Skinpack wrapping machines

Skinpack packaging is a vacuum packaging method that involves using a heat-shrinkable plastic film to wrap the product and make it adhere to the base support, which can be made of cardboard or plastic. The process takes place in a skinpack packaging machine, which heats the film and molds it around the product through vacuum and sealing. It is not suitable for food packaging.

The operation of a skinpack packaging machine can be summarized in the following steps:

  • The product to be packaged is positioned on a rigid support, usually made of cardboard or plastic.
  • A thin and flexible plastic film is heated and softened.
  • The heated film is made to adhere to the product and the support by air suction, creating a vacuum.
  • The film perfectly molds around the product, wrapping it like a second skin.
  • The package is hermetically sealed, ensuring optimal protection and preservation of the product.

Skinpack packaging machines offer numerous advantages, including:

  • Greater protection of the product from external agents, such as light, oxygen, and moisture.
  • An aesthetic enhancement of the product, making it more visible and attractive to the consumer, thanks to the transparent and adherent film that enhances its shape and color.
  • Ease of handling, storage, and transport of the product, thanks to the lightweight and compact packaging, which allows for the best use of available space.

Skinpack packaging can be used for technical, electronic, and mechanical products but not for food items.
