Skinpack packaging is a vacuum packaging method that involves using a heat-shrinkable plastic film to wrap the product and make it adhere to the base support, which can be made of cardboard or plastic. The process takes place in a skinpack packaging machine, which heats the film and molds it around the product through vacuum and sealing. It is not suitable for food packaging.

The operation of a skinpack packaging machine can be summarized in the following steps:

The product to be packaged is positioned on a rigid support, usually made of cardboard or plastic.
A thin and flexible plastic film is heated and softened.
The heated film is made to adhere to the product and the support by air suction, creating a vacuum.
The film perfectly molds around the product, wrapping it like a second skin.
The package is hermetically sealed, ensuring optimal protection and preservation of the product.
